Urban Decay: Vice 3 Eyeshadow Palette

Hi Ladies,

There are tons of palettes releases in the holiday season and this year Urban Decay's Vice 3 palette looks the most tempting for me. At least I know I'll definitely use this palette because I love the shades in here.

Urban Decay Vice3 Eyeshadow Palette
(SGD $88 for 0.60 oz.) contains twenty new, limited edition, and exclusive shades. Overall, the palette had good color payoff with the majority of the shades. I do not have any issues with the textures like other bloggers or vloggers, even if there is a few shades that is quiet powdery so you'll want to be careful applying them (there is an old trick that last time makeup artist use to used is just use a fan brush and apply more loose powder underneath our eyes, after we finish the eye makeup just brush off all the excess powder and that will just simply solve all the problems easily).

This is also a more warm-toned palette with a lot of mid-tone and dark shades, and as I worked through the palette, I felt like I needed a couple of lighter/light-medium shades so that not every eye was dark and smoky. I can't compare with the previous Vice 1 & 2 because I didn't get them (Not interested in the colours in previous palettes).

This palette includes a thin, zippered bag that you can store the palette in (or, whatever you’d like).  It is metallic, so it holds fingerprints very easily. The included double-ended brush seems to be of the same quality as other Urban Decay brushes, which is all right.

Truth is described as a “pale pink-nude matte.” It’s a light, neutral-to-warm-toned pink with a matte finish. It is 1 of the more powdery shade. It is really pigmented, and this is a great shade as a brow bone highlighter.

Undone is described as a “pink-beige matte-satin ” It’s a light-medium, peach-beige with warm undertones and a very fine shimmer over a matte finish. It really just looks matte on the lid. It had decent color payoff with a very soft, silky texture, but it was slightly powdery.

Downfall is described as a “warm light brown matte.” It’s a medium, warm-toned brown with a matte finish. It had decent pigmentation with a soft, silky texture and a little powdery to work with but blend very well on the lids.

DTF is described as a “taupe matte with subtle pearl finish.” It’s a medium-dark, neutral-toned taupe with a satin-matte finish. It looked mostly matte applied on the skin, but the shimmer in this shade was more noticeable than in other shades with a similar finish. It had good color payoff.

.

Dragon is described as a “bright metallic green shimmer.” It’s a brighten medium grassy green with warm, yellow undertones and a pearly sheen. It had fairly good color payoff, and the texture was smooth, though thinner.

Freeze is described as a “metallic medium blue with multidimensional micro-glitter.” It’s a muted, medium blue with a golden, metallic finish. It had fairly good pigmentation, though the texture was slightly dry/powdery.

Heroine is described as a “deep navy blue with subtle pearl finish.” It’s a blackened navy blue with silver and navy blue micro-shimmer over a matte finish. It’s more pigmented than it appears, but it doesn’t stick well to bare skin and blends away easily, so remember to use a primer. The texture is a little dry and fairly powdery.

Brokedown is described as a “metallic golden brown shimmer with gold micro-glitter.” It’s a golden, olive brown with hints of green and warm undertones and a metallic finish. The texture was soft and dense, it had intense color payoff.

Vanity is described as a “smoky metallic eggplant with multidimensional micro-glitter.” It’s a medium-dark, plummy purple with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had nice color payoff, and the texture was soft and only a little powdery.

Lucky is described as a “metallic bronze.” It’s a brightened, frosted copper with warm, orange undertones. It had excellent color payoff, and the texture was soft, smooth, and buttery.

Reign is described as a “rich brown satin.” It’s a medium-dark brown with a frosted, golden sheen and warm, yellow undertones. It had good color payoff with a softer, smoother texture.

Bobby Dazzle is described as a “metallic white with pale gold micro-glitter.” It’s a warm-toned, white gold with a metallic sheen and fine micro-glitter. The glitter doesn’t seem noticeable applied so much as it seems to give the powder a grittier, drier texture that doesn’t feel as smooth. It had fairly good color payoff at least.

Alien is described as a “pink-peach with golden shift.” It’s a light-medium, yellow-toned pink with a soft, golden shimmer. It had good pigmentation, but the more powdery texture made it harder to apply.

Alchemy is described as a “deep fuchsia satin.” It’s a darker, pink-berry with warm, reddish undertones and a pearly sheen. It had good pigmentation, and the texture was smooth and blendable.

Bondage is described as a “deep, smoky burgundy shimmer.” It’s a rich, dark purple-burgundy with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had excellent color payoff, and the texture was smooth, buttery, and blendable.

Sonic is described as a “metallic red-copper.” It’s a brightened, medium-dark orange-red with warm undertones and a frosted, metallic finish. It had excellent pigmentation, and the texture was soft, smooth, and buttery.
.

Last Sin is described as a “champagne shimmer with silver micro-glitter.” It’s a light, warm-toned beige with a metallic sheen. The glitter is most noticeable in the pan, but the majority had dropped while I was applying it.

Angel is described as a “light taupe with silver micro-glitter.” It’s a light-medium, golden taupe with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had so-so color payoff, but it had a drier, firmer texture. I didn’t notice any micro-glitter in this shade.
Defy is described as a “smoky taupe satin.” It’s a dark, cool-toned taupe that leans more gray than brown with a matte finish. In the pan, there are very tiny micro-shimmers, but it appears matte on the skin. This is just okay for me.

Revolver is described as a “soft black satin with subtle floating iridescent pearl.” It’s deepened, charcoal gray with cool, bluish undertones and a silver shimmer-sheen finish. It had nice color payoff, and the texture was fairly soft and smooth.

Laura Mercier: Mini Caviar Stick Eye Collection (Holiday Collection 2014)

This is my favorite time of the year because I love the Laura Mercier Mini Caviar Sets! It’s a great time get several shades in one cute kit (I got quite a few good size samples free too!) .

Take a peek!

Shades from top to bottom:
  1. Rose Gold
  2. Amethyst
  3. Moonlight
  4. Copper
  5. Khaki
  6. Cocoa

From Left to Right: Rose Gold, Amethyst, Moon Light, Copper, Khaki, Cocoa

Laura Mercier Mini Caviar Stick Eye Colour Collection (Holiday Collection Sets 2014) (SGD $79 for 6x1.00g) includes six, miniature cream eyeshadow pencils. I got them from their Laura Mercier Counter in Tangs (Singapore). The formula is long-wearing, transfer- and crease-resistant with rich color payoff. I really liked this set of six; they worked really well together, but they were creamy, opaque, blendable, and long-wearing. All six shades wore well for nine hours as I usually wear them as a base with matching shadows on top.
  • Rose Gold is a lovely soft warm champagne with a hint of rose
  • Copper is a warm but wearable soft copper shimmer
  • Moonlight is the perfect platinum-taupe shimmer with a bit of warmth
  • Khaki is a neutral khaki metallic
  • Amethyst is a soft mauve purple with silvery pearl
  • Cocoa is a basic chocolate brown with a hint of shimmer

This is my thoughts on the samples I receive and tried.

- Flawless Skin Face Polish. This creamy scrub with purifying micro beads cleanses and exfoliates, removing dead skin cells to leave skin smooth and even toned. It is rich in emollients that leaves my skin feeling very soft. The best is that I can use it daily for my normal to oily skin, for dry or mature skin just used it every other day.

- Smooth Finish Flawless Fluide. A long-wear, oil-free foundation that magically blurs the line between real skin and makeup. This revolutionary bi-phase, two part formula is designed to deliver the most natural looking color and lightweight coverage. Brilliant color-true pigments rest at the bottom of the foundation while reflective waters (Hydro-Brilliant Technology) float to the top. Vigorously shake the package before each use to ensure that the pigments blend with the reflective waters to apply fresh-faced color every time. (A great foundation!! But I got to finish up the rest of my foundation (my stash) before I would even think of getting others)

- Second Skin Cheek Colour in Rose Bloom is a matte warm tawny rose colourThe velvety powder blush that sweeps sheer color for a naturally blushed look. It is a light-as-air, velvety powder blush that sweeps on sheer color easily and evenly. With skin-silkening natural botanicals, my complexion looks naturally blushed and lit from within. The Light-diffusing qualities allow a mistake-proof, flawless application that lasts all day.

I'm smitten with this set. If you're one who rarely gets to finish a cream shadow stick because they end up drying out before you can use it up, these minis are a good way to try multiple shades in smaller doses. Love the 3 other samples of their products as well, especially that blusher (the colour is great and it blends really well)

Have you tried Laura Mercier Caviar sticks? What's your favorite color? The holiday sets this year look amazing.

Laura Mercier Body & Bath: La Petite Patisserie Souffle Body Creme Collection (Holiday Set 2014)

Left to Right: Almond Coconut Milk, Ambre Vanille, Creme de Pistache, Fresh Fig, Creme Brulee, Tarte Au Citron

Hi Ladies, I am so excited today that I finally managed to get Laura Mercier's Souffle Body Creme Collection this year. This souffle body creme have very limited quantity in Singapore that is why for the past 2 year it's sold out so fast that I couldn't get at all. I'm feeling so lucky and happy that I got it this year.

Laura Mercier Body & Bath: La Petite Patisserie Souffle Body Creme Collection (Holiday Set 2014) (SGD $95 @ Laura Mercier's Counters)

Laura Mercier’s Soufflé Body Crème Sampler presents an ultra-rich formulas blended with the finest gourmande notes. Each delectable body crème contains active ingredients in a silky-smooth, super-whipped soufflé formula that instantly nourishes skin with vitamins and protein derivatives, as shea butter and macadamia nut oil provide conditioning benefits. Ideal for travel, each scent is packaged in a non-breakable mini jar. Scents include: Almond Coconut Milk, Ambre Vanille, Crème de Pistache, Fresh Fig, Crème Brûlée and Tarte Au Citron (6 x 60 ml).

I absolutely love them! (I have and always love any body cream that has the texture of soufflé.) They are very rich, yet adsorb so easily into my skin and I don't feel greasy at all. And did I mention that the scents are to die for, my favourite scents are Almond Coconut Milk, Creme de Pistache and surprisingly Ambre Vanille (I don't usually like pure vanilla scent but there is something about this that I love).

I'm prepared to get a full size jar of one of my favorites to splurge on once in a while after I finish this set. Its definitely a great holiday gift set for giving others or yourself.

Lots of Love, Diana

Michael Todd True Organic: Pearl And Silk Facial Mask

Another Michael Todd True Organics post!  I do love their masks, and their products in general…

Pearl and Silk is a certified organic facial mask that provides an extra gentle treatment to help hydrate and firm while also providing exfoliation. Uses the power of herbal pearl and silk amino acids to purify and give the skin a very soft and velvety feel.

If you thought that masks were only for mature skin types…think again!  The key to radiant looking skin is to unclog pores, reduce bacteria and nourish, tone and heal on and below the skin’s surface. Today’s masks from Michael Todd true organics do all that transforming dull, lackluster skin into clearer irresistible complexions.

This mask is designed to be used post-cleanse, applied for 10-15 minutes, and used 2-3 times a week. It comes in the standard purple/purple MTTO packaging, with a tall pump dispenser not unlike the other MTTO maskes I’ve shared to-date.
Ingredients: Aloe Barbadensis (Organic Aloe) Juice, Vegetable Glycerin, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel), Euterpe Oleracea (Acai Fruit) Pulp Powder, Phenoxyethanol, Mica, Titanium Dioxide, Carbomer, Hydrolyzed Silk, Pearl Powder, Essential Oils, Sodium Benzoate, Glucolactone, Citric Acid.
Michael Todd True Organic: Pearl And Silk Facial Mask (USD $34) The mask itself is definitely playing up the silky pearl thing — the formula is sheer and translucently opalescent, light and serum-like in feel.  There’s not too much of a scent going on which is good. It feels cool and refreshing at first, and doesn’t completely absorb into the skin during the cure time. The mask does dry down and needs to be rinsed away, but doesn’t feel tight or irritated during the process. My skin was glowing and felt so soft.

Happy Weekend!! XOXO Diana

Rachel K CC Renew Cream (Light)

I wanted to talk about this amazing CC cream from Rachel K for the longest time but it just didn’t happen until now :P *lazing around* I’ve been using this on myself for a while, using it with my foundation and I have to say I really enjoy the texture of the product. The New Rachel K CC Renew comes in 3 shades, Very light, Light and Medium.

Totally love the white and gold and the squeeze tube just feel much more neater. The CC Renew feels quite different (good different) as compare to the original version.

  • The advanced color-correcting complex illuminates your skin and visibly minimizes all imperfections and dark spots instantly and over time.
  • Deep Sea Water, highly concentrated in rich minerals, immediately and lastingly moisturizes dehydrated skin.
  • The break-through Biomimetic Anti-Age Complex boosts the natural skin’s regeneration process to reduce fine lines and wrinkles and to improve skin’s firmness
  • SPF 35 / PA++
  • Suitable for all skin type
  • Oil free
  • Paraben free
  • Non-comedogenic
  • Dermatologically tested

Rachel K CC Renew Cream (Light) (SGD $48)

REJUVENATE YOUR SKIN

Here's my thoughts on how I feel
  1. The CC Cream feel light on the skin
  2. Doesn't have the patchy and cakey finishing on "dry/sensitive/combination skin" that I always experiences.
  3. Does show abit of shine on my nose after a few hours of wearing
  4. The cc cream does brighten up my skin and even out redness
  5. Doesn't cause any breaking-out
  6. No irritation
  7. Doesn't clogging into the pores after afew hours of wearing the cc cream
  8. Just like any foundation/bbcream this cc cream doesn't cover up deep/dark purplish post acne marks
  9. The CC Cream spread out nicely and evenly all over the skin.
  10. Skin look fresh and radiance
  11. A semi matte finishing, but doesn't look too flat (a bit dewy)
I have been using this cc cream as a primer and it does well as a great one I must say!

NYX Butter Gloss (BLG04 Merengue)

Hi ladies,
I’m sure you have heard all the hype about the NYX Butter Glosses that have been a huge hit in the beauty community.  I bought 1 during my short trip a while ago from Bangkok, Thailand. I'm still not sure about how I feel about them yet.

NYX Butter Gloss (BLG04 Merengue) (THB 295 = SGD $11.55) is a blue tone pink with hints of lavender,  Pink Lilac. think they are possibly one of the nicest gloss formulas in the budget world at the moment. Literally the name translates to the formula as these have a buttery, creamy texture that hugs lips with a moisturizing finish.

The formula provides medium to sheer coverage depending on the shade you purchase. These melt on lips providing color, hydration, and a glossy shine. They have a tasty fruity sugar cookie-like flavor that isn’t overpowering and quite pleasant. I think the gloss wears incredibly comfortable. It’s lightweight, isn’t sticky, but has a bit of tack to allow the glosses to wear quite strong at around four hours without fading, migrating, or drying out.

Now…my only issue with the gloss is the shades. Most of the shades are milky colors that aren’t quite to my liking as not all are suitable for my Asian Chinese skin tone even though I'm consider fair. As you can tell that it looks very patchy on me.  If you’re fairer with less pigmented lips you’ll likely be able to wear all of the colors without an issue but those with medium or deeper skin tones and pigmented lips might find the shades are a little zombie-like on lips.

What do you think? Do share!

Happy Weekend!! XOXO

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream (SMLC13 Sydney)

NYX Matte Lip Creams truly rival high end brands in the market of liquid lipsticks. This product is one of the best budget brand makeup items I've found to date.  Application as easy as gloss, amazing pigmentation, and buttery cream to matte texture.  It is light weight once dry, minimal transfer, and has a long staying power.  A

The doe foot applicator isn't hygienically ideal, but makes for simple and great for on the go application.   The texture is a velvety cream with an apparent silicone feel that disappears when dry.  They do take a a hot minute to dry, so be patient and the payoff will be long lasting lip color.  A caveat, as with any matte lip product it's important to exfoliate and moisturize lips before application. Although I do not recommend to apply directly on top of balm, an equation for a hot mess.  For best results apply over your favorite lip pencil or primer.

NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream (SMLC13 Sydney) (THB 295 = SGD $11.55) is a cool tone barbie pink. I love the formulation of this product but I don't really like this colour on me. The pigmentation is great.

Thanks for checking out the blog. Have a beautiful day XOXO!!

Methode SWISS: Thermal Oxygen Soothing Cleansing Water

Methode SWISS is a Swiss Skincare Brand, I got their Thermal Oxygen Soothing Cleansing Water from Singapore Sasa (beauty store) with my reward points and paid less then SGD $20 for this full sized 400 ml/ 13.6 fl.oz. I don't think I'll ever get this without my points with the original price but since  I never tried anything from this brand I thought I'll just give it a go to see if I like it a not.

Methode SWISS: Thermal Oxygen Soothing Cleansing Water (SGD $52) contains no alcohol, artificial colourant or alkaline cleansing ingredient. The fresh product effectively and quickly removes make-up. It deeply cleanses while strengthening skin’s defence against aging. It leaves skin looking plump, moisturized and balanced. And it protects skin against environmental pollution, Skin is healthy and radiant.

    • Swiss Thermal Water - hydrates, locks moisture and repairs.
    • Distilled Peony Water - gives hydrating, softening, pore-tightening, and antiseptic effects.
    • Vitamin B3, Vitamin B5 - prevents moisture loss, whitens and gives anti-oxidant effect.
  2. Cell Oxygenating
    • Thermal Oxygen Complex - Algae Extract and Plankton enhance cells’ability to repair and defend, and promote metabolism.
  3. Soothing And Balancing
    • Soothing Complex - Camomile Extract, Aloe Vera Extract and Hawthorrn calm and soothe, improving skin’s natural defence against inflammation.
    • Calmosensine™ - reduces skin’s stress and tension, gives anti-wrinkle and firming effects.

Overall I think it is way over priced and I could get a cheaper cleansing water with the same or better results. Mini Haul From Boots Bangkok Thailand

I was so happy and excited to see a Boots there in Bangkok, Thailand!! They got an amazing deal going on for Soap &  Glory products, buy 1 get 1 free. I didn't get much and i really regretted now because the prices were so cheap there compare to here in Singapore.

I managed to get the 'Collection' Lasting Perfection concealer in #2 cool medium finally!! The cool medium never seems to be in stock in Singapore, I needed something more darker then the fair I got already!!

Now if you have been following me for a while should already know I do not like any food scent on my body, face or even candles. It smells great but I do much prefer the real thing still. When I buy this scrub it is really a step out of my comfort zone, plus so many people are raving about it that I really got to try.

Soap & Glory The Breakfast Scrub (THB 395 = SGD $15.53) smells amazing with the Great Maple Scent! This is an oat, shea butter and sugar body smoother with organic cupuacu bio scrubs, bananas, almond and honey extracts ( in layman's terms it is a breakfast smoothie for the body!) Simply put, it's an exfoliator/body scrub that contains beneficial ingredients for the body.

  • Oat and shea butter work hand in hand to relieve, clean, soothe and moisturize (dry) skin.
  • Shea butter is naturally rich in Vitamin A and Vitamin E which is particularly beneficial for very dry or sun-exposed skin.
  • Organic cupuacu body scrubs is an organic exfoliant harvested from the South American rain forest that is gentle enough to use every day.
  • Banana is a a great moisturizer for your skin, and the Vitamin A present in banana restores the lost moisture as well as repairs damaged, dull and dry skin.
  • Almond extracts contain a major source of Vitamin E, which is also known as a 'skin food' because it nourishes your skin and makes it healthy.
  • Lastly, honey extracts also act as a great moisturizer for the skin and helps in keeping skin well hydrated, fresh and supple.
The texture of the scrub is a thick paste consistency with small brown sugar granules and bigger almond extracts granules. The sugar granules are very gentle on your skin, and the almond grains give a more effective exfoliation, but both compliment each other and give you a proper scrub. The scrub is not abrasive at all and rather leaves your skin with that fresh and clean feeling. I found the scrub to spread evenly and widely, and that a little but went a long way. What I loved about it is that it never left my skin feeling stripped of everything but rather left it feeling fresh, moisturized and super soft.

To sum up, a big thumbs up for me and surprisingly I actually love the scent on my body. One pretty sad thing is Singapore is selling for about $24 a tub in Sephora, not a very bad price here but it could be better

Soap & Glory The Fab Pore 2-in-1 Purifying Mask & Peel (THB 525 = SGD $20.66)  is a 15 minute intensive-action pore purifying facial peel which can also be used for just 5 minutes for a quick refresher. I really liked this face mask, it reduced the appearance of my pores – I wouldn’t say it shrank my pores but it really cleared them out and made them easier to cover with make up. It is a lovely mint green thick and creamy mask. It contains rice microbeads to cleanse, smooth and exfoliate the dead skin cells away.  The scent is a little hard to explain, it's subtle yet refreshing, a hint of mint.

It is perfect for those with oily/combination skin.  The texture is thick and creamy, very luxurious. A little goes a long way so don't go scooping out half of the tub. It smooths over the face easily and when massaging into my problem areas I can feel the microbeads doing their magic to exfoliate my dry skin and deep clean my pores. It feels very soothing and cooling on the skin without making it feel tight and uncomfortable.

I must say I'm impressed and I love this mask but I will not repurchase this in Singapore Sephora because the price is ridiculously expensive here, it's selling for SGD $41 which I can find better brands for that kind of price here. If I'm going back Bangkok, Thailand I'll pick some more up.

Finding an affordable concealer is an expensive, laborious task. I do suffer with under eye circles and blemishes and yes I do like a good concealer that can cover up. This is an absolute amazing concealer and I truly think that it deserves the hype and cult following that it has gained. Here’s a more depth review.

Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer (#1 Fair & #2 Cool Medium) (THB 249 = SGD $9.80) has a very thick consistency, which really works wonders at covering blemishes. Due to how thick it is, it does have a tendency to highlight blemishes if the skin is broken, however the coverage is just perfect. This concealer is ideal for blemishes and imperfections, and really work well when applied on the under-eye area as it does not sinks into any fine lines.

There isn't a perfect match for my skin-tone so I got to get both fair and cool medium to mix and can use fair to highlight. The price is again a huge difference to me!! If I remember correctly its selling at around SGD $15 per tube here in Singapore, I guess I got to stock up a lot of things if I am back to Bangkok, Thailand for holidays next time.

About comparing it with NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer  I not sure yet, haven't been able to get the Nars one yet because it is pretty much out of stock in Singapore and not sure when they will ever get them in again. I hope I lucky enough to get my hands on them soon to do a comparison.

Hugs & Kisses, Diana
