Small Essence Haul & Mini Reviews

To start off, here is a little info about Essence. A German Cosmetics company that has been around Europe and the USA for quite a while now and had step into Asia and have been in Singapore since 2011 which is 2/3 years ago. Essence are retail exclusively in our selected local 'drugstore Watson'.

They are one of the most affordable and cheapest cosmetics in Singapore, comparable in line with Catrice another European cosmetics company which I will be posting soon for my next review. Now back to Essence, all their products are price under SGD $10 and will not break your budget if you are just getting started in makeup.

Let's first start off with their mascara.

I have high expectations with their mascaras especially after trying their I Love Extreme Crazy Volume Mascara in the pinky-purplish tube and was so disappointed with this All about Curl: Curl + Volume Mascara SGD $5.50. This doesn't do what is said. There is completely no volume or neither did it curl my straight short Asian lashes at all, it simply just coated a layer of black on the lashes. It is a no-deal!

Next is their new range of eyeshadows.

Left to Right: Essence 3D Duo eyeshadow (#08 irresistible vanilla latte), Essence Metal Glam eyeshadow (#07 golden up!)

I have only 2 of their permanent line of single pan eyeshadows and had swatch the rest in store and love all the colours. Never been disappointed with the quality and colour payoff before. They are always pigmented, easy to blend, soft and smooth. Same goes to their 3D Duo eyeshadow (#08 irresistible vanilla latte) and Metal Glam eyeshadow both @ SGD $4.90 each.

Colour from Left to Right: Essence 3D Duo eyeshadow (#08 irresistible vanilla latte) (dry application)

Their 3D Duo eyeshadows can apply wet for a more intense effect (sorry forgot to took a pic of the wet swatch). On the left is a slightly beigey, golden champagne shimmery/frosty colour & on the right is a cream shade with a golden and pinky sheen.

Essence Metal Glam eyeshadow (#07 golden up!) (dry application)

Metal Glam eyeshadow (#07 golden up!) is a straight up light gold with a intense metallic finish when apply wet.

Now for the last part! Their lipgloss, lip pencil and lipsticks.

Above Left to Right: Essence XXXL Shine lipgloss: Just Georgeous (#24), Bright Side Of Life (#25), Glamour To Go (#08), Dazzle Glow (#23)
Bottom: Essence lipliner: In The Nude (#11)

Essence lipstick: Glow Neon Glow! (#65)

All their lip glosses are lightly scented, their pigmentation range from very sheer to semi-opaque with your natural lip colour peeking through depending on the colours. I love that they feel light, moisturizing yet is it not sticky and looks very glossy. I have already got 4 and just pick up these 4, that is how much I adore them.

All the lip pencils are extremely creamy, pigmented and is easily glide onto lips without tugging. They are a great alternatives the expensive lip liners out there. The only cons is the colours are quite limited but just enough for the basic needs. I got them in In The Nude (just a simple beigey nude) @ SGD $2.50 which is a bargain.

The lipsticks are all heavily scented with a strong fruity/candy scent which can be over powering for those who are sensitive and don't like scented products. They can be fairly pigmented depending on the colours, creamy, easily glides on easily and is not drying out the lips.

All lip swatches for the lip glosses are below except Essence Lipstick: Glow Neon Glow! (#65) @ SGD $4.90??  each. Was thinking of using the colour as a topper on other lip colours but was sadly completely without any colour at all and just left a glossy look with can be achieve with their lipgloss. Disappointed with just this colour (had another and was quite pigmented).

Left to Right:  XXXL Shine Lipgloss: Just Georgeous (#24), Bright Side Of Life (#25), Glamour To Go (#08), Dazzle Glow(#23) Lipliner: In The Nude (#11)

Just Georgeous (#24) is a bright pink with blue undertone.

Bright Side Of Life (#25) is a bright peachy coral with a slight pink tint.

Glamour To Go (#08) is a frosty brown-tinted, beigey nude with a sliver shimmery base.

Dazzle Glow (#23) is a sheer milky colour with a very fine and small pink, purplish-blue and sliver glitters.

I have been posting for a month now and I know I do not have the best makeup, beauty and nails review blog out there but I will try my best to work hard on it.

Do an email or leave your comments and opinions on how I can improve my blog and every other things. Thanks for reading!

XOXO, Diana
